Recipe ingredients

Ingredients needed to make paleo crackers.
  • Everything seasoning: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, sea salt.
  • Olive oil (or another neutral-quality oil such as avocado oil).
  • Apple cider vinegar to add a touch of brightness.
  • Egg to bind the dough.
  • Almond flour — use blanched almond flour for a smoother texture.
  • Baking soda to give a slight lift.

See the recipe card below for full measurements and yield.

Additions/ Substitutions

  • You can substitute a store-bought Everything But the Bagel seasoning for the homemade mix. Use 5 teaspoons of the pre-made blend to replace the homemade seasoning.
  • Swap olive oil for avocado oil if you prefer.

Step by step cracker instructions:

Step 1: Make the everything seasoning by combining sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, and sea salt in a small bowl. If using a pre-mixed seasoning, skip this step.

Step 2

Step 2: In a food processor, blend the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and egg until combined. Add the almond flour, baking soda, and about 2 teaspoons of the everything seasoning. Process again until a thick dough forms.

Step 4

Step 4: Place the dough between two sheets of wax or parchment paper and roll it out with a rolling pin to about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 5

Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining everything seasoning over the top. Cover with the top sheet of paper and press lightly so the seasoning adheres without compressing the dough too much.

Step 6

Step 6: Trim the edges into a neat rectangle, then slice into roughly 1-inch squares with a sharp knife. Transfer the pieces to a parchment-lined baking sheet using a spatula. Re-roll the scraps and repeat until all the dough is used.

Step 7

Step 7: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15–20 minutes, or until the crackers are firm and lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet — they crisp up as they cool.

Everything bagel seasoning folded into crispy, protein-rich almond flour crackers — a satisfying Paleo snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, and sea salt to make the everything seasoning, or use a pre-made blend.
  • In a food processor, mix olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and egg until smooth. Add almond flour, baking soda, and 2 teaspoons of the everything seasoning; process until a thick dough forms.
  • Form dough into a ball and place it between sheets of wax or parchment paper. Roll to about 1/4-inch thickness. Sprinkle the remaining 3 teaspoons of seasoning across the top and press gently to embed the seeds. Trim into a rectangle and cut into 1-inch squares. Transfer squares to the prepared baking sheet, re-rolling scraps as needed.
  • Bake 15–20 minutes until the crackers are firm and lightly golden; I baked mine for 18 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet to crisp.
  • Yield: about 50–55 crackers.

Notes

  • For convenience, use 5 teaspoons of pre-made Everything But the Bagel seasoning in place of the homemade mix.
  • You can substitute avocado oil for olive oil if desired.
