Pizza? Crackers? Why not both! These Crunchy Keto Pizza Hearts are a simple, satisfying snack — perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time you want a cute, low-carb treat for family, guests, or yourself.
How to make these 5-Ingredient Crunchy Keto Pizza Hearts
The cracker-style crust for these pizza hearts comes from my two-ingredient cracker method: super-fine almond flour and full-fat cream cheese. That easy dough is versatile and forgiving — ideal for quick keto snacks. For this recipe you make the dough, roll it thin, cut heart shapes, top with pizza ingredients and bake. I prefer a lower oven temperature (300 °F / 150 °C) so the crust bakes evenly without burning.
Step-by-step:
Place 2 cups (470 ml) super-fine almond flour into a medium bowl.

Add 2.5 oz (70 g) plain full-fat cream cheese and knead until a stiff dough forms. Pressing the mixture with your fist helps bring it together.

Shape the dough into a ball, place it on parchment paper and cover with another sheet of parchment. Roll the dough between the two parchment papers until it’s about 0.16 inches (4 mm) thick.

Remove the top parchment and cut out heart shapes (I use a 2.4 × 2.6 inch / 6 × 6.5 cm cutter). Arrange the hearts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Re-roll scraps and continue cutting until all the dough is used — I got 24 hearts.

Spoon about 1/4 cup (60 ml) marinara sauce across the hearts, place a slice of pepperoni on each, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup (60 ml) shredded mozzarella.

Bake at 300 °F (150 °C) for about 20 minutes, until the cheese melts and the hearts take on a light color — avoid letting them get too brown. Remove from the oven, let cool until warm, and serve.

How I came up with this easy Keto Pizza Heart recipe
I started the week with several recipe ideas but needed something quick and dependable. After an experiment with skillet bread that didn’t turn out, I moved on to an older idea: pizza dippers and pinwheels based on my two-ingredient cracker dough. Rolling the dough into pinwheels failed — it cracked and wouldn’t hold together — but the flavored, topped dough still tasted great.
That’s when I realized the cracked dough would work perfectly as individual pizza crackers. While searching for a cutter, I found heart-shaped cookie cutters and decided that heart-shaped pizza crackers would be ideal for Valentine’s Day. I rolled out a fresh batch of dough, cut hearts, topped them with marinara, pepperoni and mozzarella, and baked. The result was crunchy, cute, and delicious — exactly what I wanted.

Tips for variations
If you prefer a softer crust, you can use Fathead (mozzarella) dough instead of the almond flour cracker dough. The easiest way to vary the recipe is to switch toppings. Ideas:
- Margherita: marinara, mozzarella, fresh basil (add basil after baking)
- Quattro stagioni: marinara, tomato, artichoke, mushrooms, ham or prosciutto, mozzarella
- Romana: marinara, tomato, mozzarella, anchovies, fresh oregano
- Quattro formaggi: marinara, mozzarella, ricotta, fontina, gorgonzola
- Seafood: marinara, shrimp, tuna, mussels or scallops, mozzarella
- Meat lover’s: marinara, cooked beef strips, ham, bacon, mozzarella
- Spicy meat lover’s: marinara, hot sausage, pepperoni, bacon, Parmesan
- Bolognese: bolognese sauce (add fried ground beef to marinara) and mozzarella
