Instructions
-
Preheat your waffle iron following the manufacturer’s guidance so it reaches the proper temperature before you begin.
-
RED VELVET WAFFLES: Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to the instructions on the box. Lightly spray the preheated waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. Pour batter onto the hot iron, taking care not to overfill, and cook each waffle according to your waffle iron’s directions until crisp and cooked through.
-
CREAM CHEESE DRIZZLE: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Gradually add the milk a little at a time, beating until the drizzle reaches a pourable consistency. Adjust sugar or milk as needed for texture.
-
To serve, stack or plate the warm waffles, spoon or drizzle the cream cheese sauce over them, and garnish with fresh berries or mini chocolate chips if desired. For an indulgent treat, dust with extra confectioners’ sugar and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
