Wizarding World Memory Game: Harry Potter Card Matching Challenge

A playful Harry Potter–themed memory game that lets little wizards challenge each other or test their recall.

Memory was one of my favorite childhood games. While a standard deck of cards works, this Harry Potter set is far more delightful and perfect for fans of all ages.

If you have Harry Potter enthusiasts at home, they’ll adore this set featuring familiar faces—from Harry and Ron to Draco and, well, He Who Must Not Be Named. The themed cards add a magical twist to a classic matching game.

Directions

Print the themed cards onto white cardstock so the images are sturdy and not see-through. Cardstock gives the cards durability and keeps the pictures hidden when laid face down.

If you’d like decorative backs, trace each card onto patterned paper, cut to size, and glue the patterned backing to the cardstock cards for a finished look.

How to Play the Harry Potter Memory Game

  1. Shuffle the cards thoroughly.
  2. Lay them out face down in rows.
  3. Turn over any two cards on your turn.
  4. If they match, keep the pair and take another turn.
  5. If they don’t match, flip them back face down.
  6. Try to remember each card and its location.
  7. Observe and memorize during other players’ turns to gain an advantage.
  8. The game ends when all pairs are matched; the player with the most pairs wins.

Solo Play

You can play alone by continuing to flip two cards at a time until you find all matches. It’s a great way for kids to practice focus and memory skills independently.
